Exalting Christ With Great Joy

Beliefs

What we believe always shapes how we live.  So at Fourway we consider it an important issue to clearly declare and share what our beliefs are.

We are a church that is committed to the gospel, the good news, of Jesus Christ.  We would like you to know that we are here to serve our community and help people in any way that we can.  If you are want to know how you can have a relationship with Jesus the Bible tells us how we can know Him:

  • The Bible tells us that God has created each one of us and has given to us the way in which we should live for His honor and our joy.

Genesis 1:27- 28a “God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. God blessed them”

  • But we have all chosen to not live according to God’s good way. We have chosen our own way and the Bible calls this sin.
Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”
  • God is Holy and must judge sin but God is also loving and provided a way for our sins to be forgiven.  Jesus died upon the cross for the forgiveness of sin.

Romans 6:33 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

  • The way we receive this free gift of eternal life and forgiveness of sin is by faith, by trusting completely in Jesus and His work on our behalf.  We turn away from the false promise that sin offers us and turn to the wonderful promise of Christ to forgive.

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

We are a part of the Southern Baptist Convention and adhere to what is called the Baptist Faith & Message.  This document can be seen here.

We also offer a class that is called "Discovery 101"  It is a class that is designed for the person looking at Fourway and who wants to know what we believe and how we practice those beliefs.  Please see our current bulletins for the dates this class may be offered. Or you may call the church office at 303-536-4649.
